HIGHWAY 65 IN NOW CLOSED SOUTH OF THE RESORT
East Canyon Resort Temporary Closure
Dear East Canyon Resort Member,
As the global effect of coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve, East Canyon Resort is firmly committed to the health and safety of our members and employees, and serving our local communities. We are closely monitoring the changing situation, and complying with public health guidance.
As you had previously been made aware, the Board of Directors has closed all access to East Canyon Resort. This includes access to the lodge, store, camping areas, RV Park, condos, picnic areas, playground, shooting range, archery range and all wilderness areas. Access to the whole Resort has been closed at this time.
We understand and appreciate your love for and desire to be at East Canyon Resort. This is a hidden gem in Utah that is becoming more and more popular. However, as a Resort we are faced with the unprecedented challenge of being a responsible operator during this ever-evolving situation. The Resort is continually being asked if people can come and stay at the Resort to camp, or to come and access the wilderness areas, trails, picnic areas, go shed hunting, use the gaming courts and more while the nation is being asked to avoid groups, minimize contact with others, and to try and avoid traveling to any place where they would be around a lot of people. If the Resort opens up access to the Resort, we would be encouraging people to come and access a place where hundreds will gather. To avoid creating a problematic situation for East Canyon Resort, its members and local communities the Board still feels closing access to the entire Resort is the best decision at this time. We ask that you please not drive up to the Resort during this closure. Everything is completely shut down at this time.
Many of you have expressed concern for the staff and how they will handle the situation. There is a small crew that will be working on projects at the Resort and maintaining it while it is closed. We will continue to have security patrolling and watching the Resort. The remaining staff will be working from home if possible, or will have a temporary leave of absence until the Resort opens back up. Thank you for your concern and desire to help the staff at the Resort.
As new developments occur, the Board of Directors and Resort Management will monitor the situation and update the members if access to the Resort changes. While the circumstances continue to change daily, we thank you for your patience and cooperation. Be assured we are committed to taking care of our members and employees. We have included the more frequently asked questions that we are receiving at this time. Please feel free to contact any member of the Board of Directors or Resort Operations with questions.
We extend our sincere thanks to each East Canyon Resort member and employee for their ongoing support and loyal dedication during this challenging time.
