Relative Rights

Relative Rights is a membership benefit that was offered with certain membership classes until 2018. Even though Relative Rights is no longer offered as a benefit in any new memberships sold by the resort, it is still retained by certain membership classes. The following membership classes contain Relative Rights:

  • Class A Memberships that originate prior to 2018*

  • Class B Memberships

  • Class C Memberships

  • Class D Memberships

  • Class F Memberships

  • Class G Memberships that originate prior to 2018*

  • Class H Memberships

*Any Class A/G memberships purchased by the original owner previous to 2018 still allow Relative Rights, even after family/non-family transfer. If you hold one of these memberships and you're not sure if this is the case, you may reach out to Member Services for clarification!

Relative Rights allows the holder to, for an annual fee, use what is available on the membership without the owning member present; there are certain provisions they must follow. Relative Rights holders are expected to know, understand, and abide by East Canyon Resort’s rules and regulations. Relative Rights can be purchased by the owning member’s parent or child, 21 and older. The current fee for Relative Rights is $450 per holder and will expire on March 31st when the membership year ends. The $450 covers one individual and their legal spouse with a copy of their marriage license. A few things to note:

  • Relative Rights holders cannot bring any guests to the Resort. For example: Let’s say you have two different adult children that want to purchase relative rights. The first one is 23 and married, the $450 will cover your child, their spouse, and they can bring any children they have 17 and younger. If your second child is 21 and not married, the $450 will only cover that child and any children they have 17 and younger; they would not be able to bring a friend or significant other with them to the Resort if you are not present as the owning member.

  • Any RV reservations that the Relative Rights holder makes count against the two you can have on the books at a time for your membership. If the second RV reservation is going to be made during any portion of the first RV reservation’s time frame, this second RV reservation can only be made up to 14 days in advance.
